I compared 3-4 other laptop cooling fans. This one was the least expensive, so I wasn't sure how it would perform.

Overall, I am very pleased with it. I have it in black. It is very flat and low profile and fits easily in my bag/backpack so that I can carry it with me. I put it on my lap with the 15" laptop on top of it, and it is firm and steady. (I think it would work even better if I put it on a flat surface with my laptop on top of it, but old habits are hard to break.) My laptop (which used to get hot) is now cool to the touch even after hours of this kind of use.

The best feature is that the fan is SO quiet, the first few times I had to check to make sure it was working. I work in a library-like environment so the sound level was important.

The only slight downside (I wish I could give it 4.5 stars) is that it retains a bit of a plastic-y smell, a bit like new car smell only more of a chemical not a room freshener. I am a bit sensitive to things like, but I know that lots of new, plastic products have that and assume it will go away after much more use.
