I bought this product for $4 and it's great for the price. It keeps my laptop cool and it makes it more comfortable to type on my laptop's keyboard. However, you should not use this if you have overheating laptop problems. It works to keep a cool-warm laptop cool, but I doubt it would work for laptops that get very hot. To put more precise, I will provide the average temperatures of my laptop before and after beginning to use this product (I use Speedfan to view the temperature of my CPUs).The average temperature of the CPU before using this product was about 42 degrees Celsius (107.6 F) and went up to 45 C (113 F). Sometimes, though rarely, it went up to 50 C (122 F). Now it runs at about 37 C (98.6 F), which is relatively cool.
Edit: I forgot to add that if you use CPU-intensive programs, your laptop will get hot whether you use this product or not. If you want to keep your laptop cool while using a lot of CPU power, I would suggest getting an actual cooling pad (with fans).
Edit (2) [changed rating from 4 stars to 2 stars]: After using this for a week or so, I decided to get a cooler. This product is not worth your money. The only good things about it is that you can use it to tilt your computer to an angle and you can use it as a barrier between your warm/hot laptop and your lap.
