Pros:

* Seems to cool well.
* Height adjustment positions are perfect.
* Aluminum portion is sturdy.
* Plenty of extra USB ports.
* Rubber strip along wrist rest keeps laptop securely in place.
* Rubber grips on the base hold the cooler in place well on table tops.

Cons:

* Does not lock into height position!
* There is no convenient place to grab the unit if it is sitting on a table, or on your lap. If you grab it under the upper portion, the bottom portion falls down, and when you correct your mistake the height adjuster ends up in the most vertical position. The only safe way to pick it up is to squeeze your fingers under the device, which is very annoying and uncomfortable.
* The fans are quite noisy.
* My 15.6" laptop hangs over the edges by an inch on each side, so there is no way a 17" laptop would work well.
* The bottom base of the cooler and the "ramp" device are cheap plastic.
* The aluminum portion has sharp edges that should have been rounded.
* The "wrist" rest is not padded and gets annoying after a couple of hours of typing. (knew this going in, but still...)
* The bottom potion get uncomfortable quickly when using it on your lap.

Thoughts:

They should have made the lower portion out of aluminum, and left the bottom as
smooth as the top portion. It would have been more sturdy and a lot more comfortable
when using it on a lap.

Fixes:

* I'll file down the sharp edges.
* Find something to adhere to the bottom to make it more comfortable.
* Eventually I will replace the fans, since fan failure is inevitable in any cooler.
* Devise SOME way to lock that darn height adjustment into position. (seriously... major oversight)
* Add some rubber "risers" to the laptop area to raise the laptop, thus eliminating the pressure of the wrist rest.
* Add a speed limiter for the fans.

This may seem like a harsh review, but I've been searching for a decent laptop cooler for a long time.
It's especially hard to find one for a 17" laptop. If you're only using this device on a desk, and you won't move it very often, then you can raise my rating to four stars.
